Overview
For the ultimate game fishing experience come to Port Stephens. Our charters run during the prime game fishing period from February to April each year. Fancy catching Marlin, Sharks, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Spearfish...

Description
Our full day game fishing tour departs Port Stephens at 7am and returns at 5pm. Depending on the season, we offer a huge variety of game fish to catch:

December to May: This is best time of year to catch marlin. The water is at its warmest and the tropical currents move within easy reach. The Striped Marlin are the first of the Marlin to make an appearance, followed by the Blacks and Blues as the water warms. Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Spearfish and Mahi Mahi also abound. On the shark scene there are Whalers, Hammerheads, Makos and the mighty Tigers.

June to August: The water is cooling down and there is still a chance at a Marlin. You are more likely to catch school yellowfin (fish 20 – 35 Kg), with the occasional larger one thrown in. Albacore will also make an appearance. For those who like sharks there are Blue Sharks, whalers and the magnificent acrobatic Makos. These range from 30kg to 300kg.

September to November: The cooler water is still here but wider out the water is warming. Yellowfin, Albacore and sharks are still about and with each passing day the chance of a Marlin increases, some great fishing to be had. The Makos and Blue sharks are plentiful and as the water warms Hammerheads start to show along with small Tigers.

Our purpose built 38ft Precision Game Fishing boat is equipped with the latest SHIMANO tackle and will comfortably take you to where the big ones are.

Your skipper has vast experience in Sport and Game Fishing having competed and represented the Sydney Game Fishing Club in tournaments all along the New South Wales coast for the last forty years. He has won many trophies and has several records to his credit, his knowledge and experience will put you onto the fish of a lifetime.

What about bad weather? Your skipper will contact you the day before your trip to confirm weather conditions. If there is a gale warning your charter will be postponed.

What do I need to bring? BYO food and drinks. Sunscreen and a hat and warm clothing. Please contact us if you would like to include catering (additional cost).
