Major Airports: Newcastle

 

Transport: The most direct route to the Hunter Coast is via the F1 freeway leading from Sydney to Newcastle; or use the old Pacific Highway or Wollombi roads as alternate routes. From the West you can approach via Maitland on the New England Highway. Trains leave Sydney's Central Station hourly to Newcastle via Gosford. A number of coach companies offer day trips to the Hunter Valley departing from Central Station in Sydney.

 

When To Go: March-April or October-November are a delight, with clear warm days and mild nights. The Hunter Coast averages summer temperatures of around 19°C to 25°C and winter temperatures of around 11°C to 18°C. Rainfall is heaviest between January and March averaging 110mm per month, while May to August average 90mm per month.

Your private tour can be customised to focus on the places you want to visit and the wines and cheeses you want to sample. The above price is for 4 people.

More than just a wine tour, we can explore rural farmland and Australian natural bush, mountain ranges and grazing land as well as panoramic perspectives of the Hunter Valley from Mount View.

Morning tea at a wildlife park just out of Sydney:
• This morning you will be collected from your hotel and taken on an exclusive luxury charter of Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley
• Our morning tea stop is at a wildlife park, where you’ll enjoy uncaged native animals in a unique Australian bush setting while having morning tea with fresh baked muffins

Discover the wilderness and convict history the villages on the way to the Hunter Valley:
• We’ll explore rural farmland and Australian natural bush, mountain ranges and grazing land as well as panoramic perspectives of the Hunter Valley from Mount View
• Next we’ll stop to view several sections of the original 1820 convict built Old Great Northern Road and travel through the historic Wollombi village, established in the early 19th century and a wonderful example of the small colonial rural townships of this era
• We pause to taste “Dr. Jurds Jungle Juice” and have a short look around the village

Boutique wine tasting in the Hunter Valley:
• We’ll visit Hunter Valleys’ best boutique wineries, sampling up to 30 premium Hunter wines throughout the day, some of which are not available anywhere else in the world

Luxurious lunch at Robert’s Restaurant:
• Then at lunch, enjoy a unique dining experience at Robert’s Restaurant set in an early settler’s slab cottage
• Following lunch we’ll stop off at a few more wineries, before making the journey back to Sydney, arriving at approximately 6:00pm

Our vehicles are the most comfortable and safe touring vehicles of their size. Standard features include air-conditioning, fully carpeted interiors, deluxe coach recliner seats and music system. We also have first aid kit, telephone, library of flora and fauna and binoculars.

The above price is based on 4 guests, private charter. Additional guests up to a group of 10 can be priced. Please contact us for further information.

Tours depart from Sydney from 7:30am (or later if preferred) and return around 6:00pm.

Special Requirements
Disabled customers who are able to do some walking are very welcome, i.e. we can accommodate fold down wheelchairs on board most vehicles with notice.
